Ethernet connection not working on Acer Aspire - Microsoft Community

Etheernet, My Acer Aspire one series notebook says it's connected to my wireless connection with excellent signal strength but neither Google Chrome or Internet Explorer will access the internet, or any other programs for that matter.

I will consider another Acer. There is some light leakage from the bottom of the screen, but it is unnoticeable unless the screen is completely black. Thank you for your help. And I actually have only asplre one major problem since I bought it, ie it fell down on the carpet and the fan started making cracking noise, but my warrantee covered that.
